Does it exist?
[edit]Having looked at www.mil.no, it appears that Brigade Nord no longer exists and has been replaced by an entirely new structure. It is very hard to make sense of this on the mil.no website, and rewrites not just of this but several other articles are needed. But I haven't had time to make sense of it all yet, and I'm not sure if the Norwegian military website is being deliberately opaque. --Leifern 15:59, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
Yes, Brigade Nord was taken out of duty in 2005--83.108.81.160 14:53, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- According to this article, written 12 Sept 2006, Brigade Nord still exists. --Duffman 20:48, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
It is Brigade Nord - 6. Div.
As far as I've been told, it's 6th divisjon that's getting shafted, to make way for the new brigade. That was what I've been told by an NCO (sgt) in Sambandsbataljonen, but I wouldn't trust that either. I'll see if I can't find some info that isn't NATO restricted, like just about everything here is. (Unless it's NATO Secret) 212.17.141.54 (talk) 19:34, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- From what I gather from www.mil.no, I agree with the above. 6. Divisjon was disbanded many years ago, although the mobile command of the army was still called "6. Divisjonskommando" for some time. Now however, this has ceased to excist, with Brig N beeing the new army mobile command. Brig N staff has also been incorporated into the HSTY staff. Also, should TMBn, HMKG, JegKp and GSV be included in Brig N? I think Brig N is limited to the units of the garrisons in Bardufoss, Setermoen and Skjold, although I'm not sure. Brig N isn't properly described as a seperate unit on www.mil.no —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.202.31.34 (talk) 17:53, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
6. Division has been disbanded along with Brigade 6 and Hærens Styrker, leaving Brigade Nord as the only brigade left in the Norwegian Army. Brigade Nord is being reformed to form the overstructure for the Army, answering directly to the Inspector General for the Army.
